Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Surgical Stitch Wounds On The Thigh Be Treated?
I had a thigh lift and there is two places where the stitches are pulled apart and it s an open wound and all I ve been doing is washing with dial soap. And rinsing off with saline solution. It is still draining. Is that Okay? No fever. No red streaks
Thanks for putting your query over here. What I recommend in your case is keeping the wound open may cause infection of the wound.Keeping the wound clean, dry, covered is important.Nextly, the wound may not heal properly and may lead to formation of large and irregular scar. Fortunately you haven't got any signs of infection like fever;redness, swelling ,pus discharge from wound till now,but an open wound is likely to get infected. You need to visit your surgeon as early as possible so he/she can consider resuturing, may give you antibiotics course and call you for follow up. Thanks and regards.
