Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I am a 61 year old extremely obese male. I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, sleep apnea, as well as other health problems. I had home health and was walking good even if I was using a walker. I walked about 100 feet and all of a sudden I lost use of my legs. I regained use in a matter of 20 minutes or so. I was extremely weak afterwards and still am after about 3 month. This repeats itself on a regular basis and I don t have a clue. I also take a lot of prescription medications.
3)If you have difficulty standing or walking or loss of bladder or bowel control then discuss surgical treatments.
Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -
1)Do exercise.
2)Try to maintain good posture. Good posture reduces the pressure on your spine and disks. Keep your back straight and aligned, particularly when sitting for long periods. Lift heavy objects properly, making your legs not your back.
3)Try to maintain a healthy weight. Excess weight puts more pressure on the spine and disks, making them more susceptible to herniation.
Hope that helps
