How Can Severe Testicle Pain Be Treated?

what would be the cause of a severe pain in the cord to the left testicle, like vasquez cord? My son has recently had an unknown injury and this area is really painful, but it comes and goes. Now in the last weekend it has stayed and become more intense.

I understand your concern

If there is redness and swelling in the testis associated with sever pain then it need immediate/emergency evaluation by the urologist to rule out the torsion.
Other cause could be due to injury,epididmytis or orchitis a
You should consult the surgeon and do following test for diagnosis
Blood: CBC, ESR, Urine: Routine and microscopic examination, STD screening, USG of scrotum and abdomen.
Doctor will give following advises
Tablet ibupufen , Tablet Cefuroxime, Wear supporting device that support the scrotum, Wear loose under garments, Warm bath
