How Can Severe Pain In The Neck Be Treated?

Ive been seeing a chiropractor for severe pain in my neck. I went to have my muscles scraped as they were very sore and stiff. Ive been having similar pains for many years but it was getting worse. I went twice and felt a relief. However today he said I have a nodule that does not seem to be muscular and that I should have it checked to see if it benign. I want to know what type of specialist to see. ENT? I have an appointment already set for Friday. I guess Ill wait to see if this is the right specialist to see. Sorry I didn t realize there would be a charge to ask what type if doctor to visit. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a muscle strain.

I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication for the pain such as Ibuprofen.

I also suggest using an anti-inflammatory cream for local application.

If the symptoms continue you should consult a rheumatologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
