How Can Severe Pain In The Knees Be Treated?

I used my knee to pull myself onto my bed and suddenly felt and heard a deep pop followed by severe pain and two more pops ( broke out in a sweat didn t know if I was going to throw up or pass out) kinda pain. Couldn t apply any pressure on the knee during the pain spell. Now limping but can apply pressure as I can walk but still painful and weak and sitting it s a dull pain. Can t stretch completely and can t bend without pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fracture of the knees.

I recommend using painkillers for the pain such as Ibuprofen.

I recommend using ice compresses for local application.

You should go to the ER for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
