How Can Severe Pain In The Hips Due To Osteoporosis Be Treated?

Yes please. After falling backwards I landed on my hips and back. Xrays show no fractures but extensive osteoporosis in both hips and degenerative spinal stenosis. I was out on muscle relaxer 3x day and Advil every 4 hours. It has been 6 days since my fall and pain is severe sitting, standing, or laying down. Orthopedic opinion requested and welcome.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As far as my clinical experience is concerned, there should not be such an intensity of pain as narrated here after the use of adequate analgesic. I doubt about possible nerve compression at spinal canal level giving agony of pain and recommend an MRI of the region for further diagnosis and management. Epidural analgesic is best way to control such painful issues with interventional pain specialist.

Do give me further chance to assist in future.

Thank you.
