How Can Severe Pain In The Hip Caused By An Injury Be Treated?

Hi I fell down some wooden stairs when carrying my grand daughter. I managed to protect her and she is ok but my right hip which took most of the fall is extremely painful. This happened a couple of days ago and my son took me to A&E. The doctor said he didn t think anything was broken but didn t suggest an X-ray. This happened 2 days ago ans I am in as much pain if not more than when it first happened. He gave me co-cords mil for the pain which hasn t helped. I have an under active thyroid, osteoporosis and AF for which I take Rivaroxaban. I live in The North East and am visiting family in London. I am due to go home on Monday. Thank you.

Hi,

Since you are a known case of osteoporosis, fall may cause fracture and or hematoma, because of oral anticoagulant Rivaroxaban. Get X-ray hip (right) done. Even soft tissue trauma can cause considerable pain for days.
