How Can Severe Pain After Knee Replacement Be Treated?

I had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago and it is done well, however I was given oxycodone for pain and I now find out my body does not metabolize that drug. I quit taking it March 29th and have had very little sleep due too restless leg syndrome. I am not taking any pain drugs at the current time.Any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you don't have necessity of painkillers then it's better to stop it rather than taking it.

If you are finding it painful then you have many options of OTC painkillers available but I suggest you not to take more of drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
