How Can Severe Migraine Be Treated?

I am on warfarin, 7.5mg daily, from a saddle pe & DVT 6 years ago (Age 47 now, no known allergies). I ve had a massive migraine headache for 20+ hours now. I d like to take fiorecet to get some relief. I ve only taken 2,000mg total (4 pills) of acetaminophen thus far. I m in serious pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

I am sorry that you are in such painful distress.

Fiorocet contains butalbital , acetaminophen and caffeine. Unfortunately there is a risk of a serious reaction between the butalbital and warfarin.

Butalbital decreases the effects of warfarin but increasing its breakdown. This means that the warfarin in your body would not work as effectively.

Codeine/acetaminophen combination can be used or one of the other opiates.
In addition , the migraine specific medications such as sumatriptan or zolmitriptan etc, can also be used as well.

I hope this helps
