How Can Severe Back Pain Be Treated?

I have chronic back pain in my back in multiple places from a serious motorcycle accident from over 15 years. I ve had a few procedures ie nerve burns blocks therapy epidural injections but no fusions. Most of my problem is from t6 to t9 and c4 to c6. I go to a pain management Dr that deals with spine and sports meds. I take roxiecodine 30 mg and soma 350 plus otc tylenol 650mg and dulexis 800mg. I was on oxycotin 60mg for a few years but I didn t trust them. I don t drink or abuse my meds, but my Dr is getting letters from the medical board telling him that he has to take his patients off of the somas for some dumb reason. Hes been my Dr for the last 15 years and I ve never failed a drug test nor had to beg for early refills from taking my meds other than he has instructed. My main problem is I ve tried everything on the market to deal with the spasms in my thoracic spine that feel like horrible charley horses and nothing works like the soma. Im a welder/fabricator and have to work safely not just for me but everyone else around me. Im never europhic on not in my clear mind but I don t think ill be able to continue without the somas taking the edge off those spasms. Im afraid to take stronger meds because I wouldn t be able to live with myself if I hurt or killed someone from being doped out of my mind. Sorry this was so long but I needed to give enough info I felt important. Are there any new meds that will work without me being in a corner drulling on myself that he and I aren t aware of

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You are suffering from a prolapsed disc. Primary treatment of this is bed rest, analgesics (Diclofenac sodium) methlcobalmine one tablet daily, but it takes a longer time to relief. If one develops neurological symptoms then the operation is required. This operation is everywhere in india. In my opinion, you should be done it locally because frequent follow up will be required to get operated by orthopedic surgeon of your choice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
