How Can Seizures Be Managed?

I am online trying to get some info about my wife s medical condition. She having seizures, right now she is on Levetiracet 500MG. She started having seizures about a year ago and that s what they put her on. She is supposed to take it twice a day, but when she forgot to take it twice a day she stared having the seizures again. Could this imply that her condition is getting worse?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

No, it should not. Take medicines regularly. Work up for the cause of seizure should be done.

Though in most cases, cause is unknown but in some cases where it is known, treatment of the cause help get relief from seizures completely.

Other way is to continue taking anti-epileptic till your neurophysician not advises to do so.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
