How Can Retinal Detachment And Floaters In The Eyes Be Treated?

I believe my husband may have a retinal detachment. He had cataract surgery 8-15-on his right eye. He now has floaters that look to him like pieces of ash when leaves are being burnt . No pain-slight redness. We live in Summerfield FL. I cannot reach the eye dr office. They say the # is not in service and then goes to a busy signal.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Your husband can have underlying ophthalmological pathology. Vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment also can be the possibility. His indirect ophthalmoscopy and fundoscopy like examination needs to be done for further work up. I suggest you to find good ophthalmologist nearby for examination.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
