General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical exam by your [Neurologist] and get your recent MRI checked to confirm that it is migraine.

2)If confirmed then discuss about prescription medications like [sumatriptan and naproxen sodium]for pain and [Amitriptyline] for preventive medications.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Try to avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them.

2)Try to reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco.

3)Try to establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals and try to control stress.

4)Do exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling.

5)Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

6)If you're a woman Try to reduce the effects of estrogen.

Hope that helps
