How Can Recurrent UTI With Pus Cells In Urine Be Treated?

my daughter has repeated uti which get cure by antibiotics. she is 9yrs. old. She had cystoscopy before 6 months. nothing was found and everything was normal. now again she has discomfort and urine analysis says pus cells 3-. why it is repeating ?

Hi,

We can not confirm UTI with urine microscopy showing pus cells. Also, just 3 pus cells does not suggest UTI.

Get her urine culture if having UTI symptoms. If culture is negative, this is not UTI. If this is recurring episodes true UTI, we need other investigation like ultrasound abdomen and DMSA scan. Kindly discuss with your doctor.
