How Can Psoriasis Be Treated?

Born in 1955 and have had psoriasis and my mother has explained that I have had Chicken Pox s when I was child. I had a physical last week and was suggested “strongly “to get the shot. I thought I read that there was a new formula, if that’s the word for taken a shot.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all, Psoriasis has no cure and the medications provided is to prevent the symptoms and reduce the inflammation.

You need to consult your dermatologist to prescribe both topical and systemic medications for you to relieve symptoms. In some cases, phototherapy is used to alleviate the condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abed Tahrawi
