How Can Pinworm Infestation Be Treated?
Hello Dr. My daughter was diagnosed with pin worm and the Dr. prescribed for her Zentel 20mg one time dose..a word of mouth from parents around was prescribed a second dose after a week for their kids with same diagnosis to ensure it is all gone .. would this be advisable ? Kind Regards.

Pinworm infestation requires treatment with 2 doses of Zentel (albendazole) 2 weeks apart.
The medication kills only the worms and not the eggs. The second dose is to kill any worms that have hatched after the first round of treatment. This will ensure complete clearance of infection.
I'd recommend taking Zentel 200 mg 2 weeks after first dosage.
