Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pinworms and took the required first dose of albenza Friday night 9/1 -no sign of relief. How long does it take for the worms to die and the crawling feeling to stop. I have stinging in my feet and toes as well as weird sensations on my face, I have been up between 4-5 every morning in the shower and have spent each day vacuuming and scrubbing my home. Hope you can tell me.
Pinworms infections are highly contagious. When a person scratches the affected area, the pinworm eggs transfer to the fingers. The eggs can survive for several hours on your hands. If the infected person touches bedding, clothing, toilet seats, toys, or other household objects, the eggs transfer to these objects. Advice 1. Albendazole 400 mg daily empty stomach in the morning for 3 days. Ask other family members to take this treatment for 3 days simultaneously 2. Trim your finger nails and ask your family members to do this 3. Wash your clothes and bed sheets in hot water 4. Wash your hand with warm water and soap before eating 5. Avoid scratching the affected area I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
