How Can Pinching Sensation Near The Belly Button, Post Hysterectomy, Be Treated?

Hi I had a complex hysterectomy surgery 3 months ago. The incision is vertical. Since, I have had debilitating pain near my belly button. It is burning, pinching, and is worse with I walk or stand for an extended period. I was told it was neuropathy and put on gabapetin. However, this is not effective to stop the burning and pinching feeling. Are there other alternative treatments?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the burning and pinching is not due to neuropathy but for 2 main reasons
1.- the anesthetic used is not totally cleared. This is the effect of getting the nerve off the anesthetic
2. - repairing tissue- scar tissue tightening

I advise rechecking with your surgeon to rule out possible complications, Have your genitalia recheck through ultrasound and urine analysis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
