Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of infection in the tonsil stone due to which you are experiencing pain throat on the left side. Do regular gargle with salt water and keep yourself adequately hydrated. You are advised to get it clinically examined and evaluated by an ENT. Infected tonsils will be treated with pain relieving medicines, like Naproxen to be taken after food and when needed. You will be prescribed a course of Augmentin or Penicillin. If needed your treating doctor will recommend tonsillectomy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
