How Can Painful Plantar Fasciitis Be Treated?

I have had plantar fasciitis since August. I bought sneakers with inserts recommended by podiatrist, I have been doing exercises to stretch for several months-Itake ibuprofen when it ispainful still is quite painful -do you think I should get night splints? It especially hurts after standing-have tried to limit running,jogging and walking long distances- I am getting frustrated with how long this is taking- I am 66 and otherwise healthy,

Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-:
1)Do icing like ice massage,ice bath,ice packs every one hour
2)Take rest or modify your activity to reduce pain and healing process
3)Take Corticosteroid injections for quick pain control as well as healing.
4)Use a night splints and modify your shoes
5)Contact with a physio expert and he will guide you to better exercises.
Do these things first if failed other methods will be applied as well as surgery so do not be impatience at all will take few weeks only.
