How Can Painful Bruises On The Knuckles Be Treated?
Hi! On Saturday I was breaking boards at my martial arts studio, and happened to get one that wouldn t break. I repeatedly tried to punch it with my right hand until I couldn t do it anymore. There is a developing bruise on my knuckles, and it is painful to fully stretch out my hand, as it is to squeeze a tight fist. Oddly enough, my pinkie on that hand also sticks out much farther than it used to. Should I see a doctor and get an x-ray?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Yes, please get an x-ray of hand as there may be a fracture. If there is no fracture, then you should take any anti-inflammatory drug as Aceclofenic two times a day for 5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
