How Can Painful Bowel Movements And Swollen Skin In The Anus Be Treated?
Hi, I have had trouble with bowel movements and decided to take a laxative. The other day it helped but I noticed I had some bleeding. Earlier today I took another laxative and did have a movement but it was painful. While in the shower I noticed that something has appeared, like swollen skin. What should I do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* As per my surgical experience, this indicates sentinel skin tag with secondary infection or inflammation.
* I recommend following additional guidelines for better recovery
-Sitz bath ( sitting in tub filled with lukewarm water added Epsom salt ) on regular basis.
-Bulk forming laxative will support best instead of conventional laxatives.
-Intake of anti inflammatory drugs as ibuprofen 3 times a day after meals if no history of drug sensitivity.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
