How Can Pain In The Thighs Be Treated?

I fell on concrete floor 20 years ago. Am now 63 and have DX of osteoarthritis of L hip by Rhuematologist. I also have a popping and pain on the inner aspect of the thigh which is increasing in frequency as even in turning over in bed. Normally this eases after a few days of being off my feet and that is not happening this go around. One unusual aspect of it is, if I m lying down and brace the right thigh against the left before I try to move it there is little to no pain. I am having to sit/lie on my daybed with the leg straight although there is no pain if I sit Indian style but I pay for it afterward.

Dear sir /madam
You are experiencing pain in certain movements of your hip,

That is why you are not experiencing pain when you support your left leg with right

Squatting increases joint reaction forces 4 fold thus causing pain,

Arthritis of your hip is progressing that is the reason for no pain relief which was there initially,

It is highly recommended to start hip abductor strengthening exercises,

I find this answer helpful
