How Can Pain In The Shoulders Be Treated?

Me and my aunt had a wreck 3 days ago and I was took to the ER with a shoulder sprain an torn muscles now my pain feels worse than it did and it shoots around the right side of my back. They put me in a sling but it doesn t feel like it s helping do I need to try and get a cast on my arm?

Hello,

Shoulder pain can be annoying, and it takes a few weeks to completely resolve. You have to rest your shoulder, apply cold compressors, avoid any activity and take analgesics such as ibuprofen prescribed.

Casts are placed when there is a fracture to allow stability and union . So, there is no need for it. If your condition did not improve, you need to consult your doctor.
