How Can Pain In The Calf Muscles Due To An Injury Be Treated?

Hi. I was at my son s soccer game (I m 52 year old white male) when he got hurt. I trotted over to where he was and felt a pop in my upper calf and then quite a bit of pain. I m having trouble walking. It s fine when I am sitting but when I try to walk its quite painful. Calf Strain? Suggested treatment?

Hi,

Yes, it can be a muscle strain due to sudden jerky injury to the calf muscles. So for now you can apply muscle relaxant gel over the area and put crape bandage over it for support.

Along with it you can take muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxasone. Avoid exerting like running, jumping till it heals well. In case if there is no improvement consult a Physician and get checked and an X-ray can also be done for confirmation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
