How Can Pain After A Hernia Repair Surgery Be Treated?

I had a hernia repaired in April, 2010 (laproscopically, with mesh, I believe). Before the surgery, it was very, very painful. I ve experienced no problems until a couple weeks ago when I began feeling it again! I thought the surgery would take care of the problem, a one and done deal. This time, the pain is minimal, but I m constantly aware of it, although it s better in the morning, and some days are better than others. So what s going on? I do have an appointment this week with my health care provider.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As far as my clinical experience is concerned, there must be some sort of nerve compression related issue or else ; which has to be figured out with radiologic evaluation of CT scan or MRI.

Do give me further chance to assist in future.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
