How Can Ovarian Cancer Be Treated?

Since the diagnosis of ovarian cancer a week ago, I am told that the doctor is so booked I can t have surgery until mid Dec. How fast will this cancer spread in 6 weeks...also since ovarian cancer treatments seem to only last a year until it returns, it would seem that there has been very little improvement in treatments and in lengthening life in the last 40 years, correct?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The presentation of confirmed diagnosis suggest that it requires earliest intervention without delay for preventing further spread to other body systems.
* I recommend to consult alternate onco surgeon for the early surgery.
* So far as recurrence is concerned, it varies on multiple factors which has to be evaluated in person.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
