How Can Osteoarthritis Be Treated?

I am 77 years old have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis for some time. It has been quite progressive in my hands . I am on Coumadin for DVT and have Factor Five Leiden so am restricted to what meds I can take. What are my options for treatment? I have Medicare and Aetna and have had difficulty finding a Dr that accepts new patients with Medicare Carolyn P Adair YYYY@YYYY

I have read and understood your concern.
Sorry to hear what you are going through.
I will first of all advise you continue to take your drug for DVT as prescribed ny your Doctor.
As for osteoarthritis, many treatment options do exist.Some of these options may include:
-Different lines of pain drugs depending on pain intensity
-Myorelaxants
-Steroids shots ocassionally
-Physiotherapy
-And others
Many of these options may be used at a time for better results.I will also advise you remian active.
