How Can Nocturnal Seizures Be Treated?

I have nocturnal seizures. I take Keppra XR500 x4 with my lunch usually around 11am. I recently , bcompleted some blood work, before my next scheduled dosage to check my levels and my doctor wants to increase my dosage because my levels were low. Is it best for me to take them all at one time or should I space them out throughout the day. The reason I take them in the morning is because they keep me awake at night.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

We usually do not recommend to take Keppra daily dosage at once but throughout the entire day. This is to ensure less episodes of seizures to occur.

If Keppra is causing nervousness at night, should report this side effect to your caring doctor. Perhaps you need to change therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
