How Can Nightmares Be Prevented?

I am taking 300 mg/day of gapapentin because I can t take Advil (Advil gives me nightmares). So just last night, I had a horrific nightmare while I have not had one in years. In general, I am not prone to nightmares unless I am coming out of anethesia or taking Advil. Now I wonder about Gapapentin. I have taken it for 2 months now. I am a 67 year old woman and taking no other medication than one drop of Lumigan daily.

Hello,

Advil has side effect profile with nightmares, but if currently not taking advil the causative factor is not advil. Gabapentin is being consumed for 2 months, so its side effect is out of the question.
Now currently this seems to be an underlying anxiety related issue only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
