How Can Mycobacterium Abscessus Be Treated?
My mother has just been diagnosed with mycobacterium abscesses. When has had a chronic cough for 4 years and this diagnosis what prompted by her bleeding out of her nose. She is 78 and weighs about 90 pounds. She is very reluctant to take any medication, including antibiotics. What is the typical course of treatment and prognosis? Mayo did 2 different cultures to confirm this is what she has.
