Hi..
Thanks for the query..
Efudex contains
Fluorouracil and if the normal skin or mucosa gets exposed to it, the mucosa/skin will get irritated, inflamed and ulcerated.
Due to inflammation and ulceration there us stinging, pain and burning on eating anything..
So my suggestion is to avoid exposing the areas of normal mucosa or skin to Efudex and be cautious in application..
Use only little amounts on the target spot.
For the swollen and inflamed areas you can apply
Lidocaine gel to reduce the stinging as it is a numbing agent.
Do cool compresses frequently throughout the day as it will reduce inflammation and swelling..
Avoid spicy and acidic foods..
You should take anti inflammatory medications after consulting your doctor to reduce pain and inflammation..
Take Vitamin B complex for a period of 15 days..
Hope you get better soon..
Regards.
