How Can Liver Cirrhosis Be Treated While Suffering From Osteoporosis?

I am 52 yrs old woman- 5 4 - 254lbs- osteo & rheumatoid arthritis- replaced left hip- redone within days due to infection 3 yrs ago. Dr. informed me a few days ago that I have a borderline liver (failure?) I want to consider liposuction done under by local anesthesia only because most of my weight is right around my hips, tummy... other wise, no other diagnosis... comments/ suggestions?

Hello,

Compensated liver failure or borderline liver failure is a concern with any form of surgery. In my opinion, you should get your liver function tests within normal range before you start contemplating other procedures.

In any case, make sure your doctors know your liver status as drug dosages may need to be altered based on the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
