How Can Klebsiella Pneumoniae In Urine Be Treated?

Hi, A few days ago I was diagnosed with a UTI infection. I was put on antibiotics and the ER doctor send my urine for a culture. My doctor told me that klebsiella pneumoniae is present in my urine culture. She told me to refer to a doctor. What does this mean? I am 23 years old and sexually active. Will this bacteria cause harm? This year I have had about 4 UTIs, which isn t normal for me. Could this be because the antibiotics is not treating it? Is this cured? Is it contagious? Should sexual activity be stopped. I am also trying to get pregnant. Please help.

Hi, I have gone through your query.I suggest that you can go in for a repeat complete urine examination along with a culture & sensitivity of the urine.You can come to know about the Antibiotic which the bacteria is sensitive to and start the antibiotic.You will feel better in course of time.You can start of with Cranberry tabs along with the Antibiotic.
