How Can Jaundice In An Infant Be Treated?

Sir My baby is 10 days old, 1 day before he become yellow on his body and eyes also, we went to doctor and he give some blood test and found jaundice level is 26 and advised me to admit my child in hospital for light therapy. Yesterday i admitted my child and take light therapy for 8hrs and today he also in light therapy. Is it effective? or how long my child have to take light therapy and he need to take another medicine?

Hello,
The light therapy is very effective. He will need it until the bilirubin level returns to normal. The doctors will monitor that with blood tests. Usually that is all the treatment that is needed.
