How Can Inflammation In The Throat Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with inflamed tissue surrounding my vocal cords about 6 weeks ago. Symptoms included raspy voice, clearing of throat and nose congestion. The doctor prescribed dexilant (60mg) and ranitidine HCL 300 mg. I have a hiatal hernia and had been taking nexus for several years. I am concerned that the new meds are stronger and don t seem to be helping my voice issues altho they do help with my reflux issues.

Hello,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.

Your concern about the regaining of voice is genuine but because of acid regurgitation there was laryngitis in turn lead to the loss of voice.

Loss of voice is because of nerve injury and it takes 3-6 months to be fully recovered
.
As you said there is no more regurgitation so you don't need to worry. your voice will regain during time but if you feel there is acid reflux till happening you need to go for then surgical repair of hiatus hernia.
Hope you will be healthy soon.

Regards
