General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

First, triamcinolone injections are not standard treatment of pilonidal sinus and this cannot cure the disease.

It is hard to say if this became infected before or after injection but in every case this was not big mistake form you since such cysts should always be incised and drained.

In future, it is better to treat it surgically before it becomes inflamed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein
