Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Repeated rubbing may cause irritation lead to pigmentation of the skin so avoid it.

Check for hormonal imbalance or ultraviolet race exposure and vitamin deficiency or stress or pregnancy which may aggravate it.

Use moisturizer and sunscreen if you exposure to sun.

Aloe vera is also very helpful when it comes to lightening dark spots on the skin.

Sometimes, a skin infection, blisters, tan, sun burn, other burns or other trauma to your skin, may cause a decrease or increase of pigmentation in the affected area.

Use detangling packs or moisturizing cream or Hydroxychloroquine cream may useful.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
