I developed a fever of 101.3 this evening and it has steadily climbed to 103. I took 500mg rapid release acetaminophen at 9:30 PM CST. Temp has gone down to 102.8. I am taking all of these temps with a tympanic thermometer. I had a dental filling last week. For the last 24 hours I have been feeling worse.

How Can High Fever Be Treated?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. First, the cause of fever should have been diagnosed. It can be malaria, viral fever, or enteric fever. They can be diagnosed by investigation and after diagnosis, proper treatment can be recommended. Control fever with tablet Crocin. Get dental checkup done by dentist. It can be dental infection and in need of route canal treatment. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
