How Can High Blood Pressure Be Treated?

I have high blood pressure ( right now 168/84 ) and can t seem to get it down. I am on furosemide 40 MG in the am, but still those high numbers. I have asthma so cannot take beta blockers. Ace inhibitors give me a rash. What else can I take that has few side effects? My doctor rings his hands?
