How Can Hearing Loss Be Treated?
I used peroxide (3%) to flush out my ear using a debrox bulb. I let the peroxide sit for a few minutes and then aggressively sprayed in the peroxide using a bulb. Then I flushed with hot water. I ve lost 80% hearing in this ear. My doctor saw no wax buildup and referred me to an ENT.

Sudden hearing loss is an emergency in the ear, where the ear is suddenly deaf, sometimes without a complaint, usually happen in one ear with 30 dB or greater hearing loss at 3 frequencies and lasts for less than 3 days. It is said emergency because this situation is often settled, if not known quickly cause.
In your case, maybe it's happen because of the aggresive act in cleaning ears.
Labyrinth membrane rupture has the potential to cause sudden sensorineural hearing loss too, basement membranes and reissner membranes are thin membranes that limit the endolymph and perilymph. Rupture of one of the membranes or both can cause sudden deafness.
So, I also suggest to meet the ENT to get appropriate treatment based on the cause.
Commonly used drugs:
-Vasodilators are strong enough eg complamin injection:
3 x 1200 mg / 4 ampoule for 3 days
3 x 900 mg 3 days
3 x 600 mg 3 days
3 x 300 mg 3 days
With oral complamin vasodilator 3 X 2 tablets daily. Other vasodilators need to be considered because complamin is starting to be less manufactured.
- Corticosteroids is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat idiopathic sudden sensorineural deafness.
- Prednisone 4 x 10 mg tapering off every three days, be careful if you have diabetes
- Hyperbaric Oxygen. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy uses 100% oxygen with a pressure of 250 kPA for 60 minutes in a closed room.
- Surgical treatment
