How Can Head Lice Be Treated?
My husband and I have contacted two kinds of lice. we are between 70-80 yrs. and he is has not been well for a couple of years. We have been trying to get rid of these since Sept with no success. I put a plastic mattress over the mattress but it is for a deeper mattress than ours. Will lice stay on a plastic cover until you return to bed the next night. How do I handle this? We have fogged our house and applied sprays. We have taken Malathion and are now on Stromectol. What am I doing wrong? YYYY@YYYY

Your descriptions are a standard way the lice is managed. But i can guess the issue perhaps, correct me if i am wrong. The method of application and the duration of application.
Kindly follow these steps and see if you have missed out on any.
1. Disinfect your room and mattress and your entire home from lice with a suitable disinfectant like malathion, kindly call a Pest control service to do this.
2. Take Ivermectin(STROMECTOL) IN AN EMPTY STOMACH with a full glass of water. Atleast stay without consuming for two hours after intake of this medication. One dose should be highly sufficient in most cases.
3. If this is not working for you, Apply permethrin or pyrethrin shampoo on your head and leave it FOR 10 full minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat this process after a gap of 10 days.
