How Can Frequent Urination Be Treated?

After a read thru on this website, it sounds like a an absolutely perfect description of what I am experiencing. In the last week of so lake of a urine stream, resulting in a need to urinate frequently, has become fairly regularly...I is good, or possible, to try flow max to see if there s any improvement? Is there a prescription necessary to get started? Thanks much, Barry Gardiner , age 68

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since you are a 68 years only gentleman, the most likely cause is due to obstruction of the urinary tract from an enlarged prostate. If possible get an ultrasound examination of the urinary tract to confirm the impression and to exclude a prostate cancer. Tamsulosin is likely to help you with symptomatic relief.

Do get back to me if you have further queries.
