How Can Fissures Causing Bleeding, Pain And Syncope Be Treated?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Yes
I have two fissures and when I go to the bathroom it feels like I am pooping out a cactus.. it bleeds and I shake because of the pain.. the dr prescribed me some cortisone cream and to apply it sparingly.. I was on the toilet and all of a sudden my head went all light and I felt very strange and almost passed out.. it scared me , I went and took my bp and it was normal .. I also took my blood sugar and it was 4.4 mmol.. so I drank and ensure.. it's freaking me out and when is it going to heal??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Fissure can be treated only with surgery. Some advices that I can give to you are:

- Use over-the-counter stool softeners.
- Drink more fluids.
- Take fiber supplements and eat more fibrous foods, such as raw fruits and vegetables.
- Take warm baths called sitz baths to relax the anal muscles, relieve irritation, and increase blood flow to the anorectal area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
