How Can Fibromyalgia Along With Dercum S Disease Be Treated?

I have Fibromyalgia and recently diagnosed with Dercums Disease. My PCP wants me to see a dermatologist for second opinion on the 100 s of lumps beneath my skin. I now have severe head pain (not a headache) and EXTREME sudden hair loss in the area with the most pain. Any ideas suggestions?

Hi, thanks for using Healthcare Magic.
I understand your condition and your concern.

Dercum's disease or Adiposis Dolorosa is the condition that charactherized with many fatty tumors (lipoma) in the adipose tissue.

Four cardinal symptoms have sometimes been used as diagnostic criteria:
1. Painful, fatty lipomas across the body
2. Obesity, frequently in menopausal age
3. Weakness and fatigue
4. Emotional instability, depression, epilepsy, confusion, and dementia.

There are also potential signs of the disease which are identified as the following:
1. Being bruised easily
2. Trouble with sleeping
3. Memory issues
4. Elevated heart rate
5. Difficulty with concentration
6. Joint aches
7. Shortness of breath, etc.

The condition you feel, might be caused by this disease. If I were you're treating doctor, for the management of fibromyalgia I will give pregabaline and duloxetine, but I would like if you check it firstly with a dermatologist or neurologist.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
