How Can Excessive Weight Gain After A Hysterectomy Be Reduced?

Hi. Back in March this year I had a hysterectomy but kept my ovaries I then went on to elleste solo for menopausal symptoms however I stopped taking it as I seemed to be gaining a lot of weight . I stopped hurt bout 5 weeks ago I haven t gained anymore weight but am struggling to lose the weight I have gained. My symptoms have come back and I m not sure what to do . I really don t want to gain weight but at the same time I don t want to be putting up with these awful symptoms. Can u advise me of anything that would help me with my symptoms other than hrt

Weight gain can occur with some medications. It can occur in different ways-

(1)increasing appetite- this can be counteracted by using foods not likely to cause weight gain

(2)decreasing energy and activity level- this would have to be assessed by setting aside time for activity

(3)decreasing metabolism- by looking at diet and activity, may be able to help with this

(4)decreasing satiety/fullness



If HRT is definitely not an option then st johns wort or a similar product can be considered.
