How Can Double Vision Be Treated?

I am having an issue with my right eye. The muscle in the eye is sick and I can not look to the right with out having double vision. I have seen an optomologist. He is the one who has told me the above. He said it would take up to 3 months for it to get better. I am worried.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, by your history it looks like the paralysis of 6th nerve which can take 3-6 months to be okay. but why did it happen ? Are you diabetic or hypertensive as it is common in them . Also please get a MRI brain done to rule out any lesions in the brain affecting the nerve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
