How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

Just had my second colonoscopy at age sixty, the first at age fifty, and found one polyp which was removed and tested benign. Diagnosed with mild Diverticulosis which has become Diverticulitus three times in six months. treated with cipro. Now have discovered a long shoe string like tissue approximately one inch long that protrudes from the anus after defecating. Had primary Doctor at the VA examine it and he dismissed it as a skin tag. It is a new discovery to me and concerning as one would imagine! I ve had Hemorrhoids all of my adult life, however this is different and a sudden discovery! Difficult to clean and wishing I could remove it! Advise please!

Hello,

You should have to remove it if it's bothering you. For diverticulosis start high fiber diet with antibiotics and plenty of oral liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
