How Can Diarrhea And Cold In An Infant Be Treated?
Hi Doctor, I am ajeet rai, father of a 2 year old girl, body weight 14 kg. My child is having loose motion 3 to 4 episodes of watery nature daily. Since 3 days she is having cold with running nose. Since yesterday she is coughing very badly. Not able to sleep due to coughing. Doctor advised me azee 5ml/100 mg, 7ml OD and ambrolite D 5ml TDS. Please guide
Antibiotics like Azithral (Azee) cause antibiotic induced loose motion due to disturbance in useful intestinal bacterial flora. I would advise that a probiotic syrup should be added (after discussing with the treating pediatrician) for relief of loose motions. An antihistamine will be helpful to treat cold symptoms and can be added if the pediatrician thinks of its need in your case.
I hope this is helpful to you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. R A Singh
