How Can Dementia Be Treated?

My 96 year old father has been experiencing signs of dementia/alzheimers for about a year (ie; memory loss,some confusion,forgetfullness,etc.). What is the best medication ,with the least number of side effects can I recommend to his doctor if we can get him go to the doctors office for a visit. Thx.

Dementia may be common in old age it may be treated with cognitive enhancer drugs but they may have few side-effects. cognitive therapy, behaviour therapy and rehabilitation may useful. drugs like tacrine, galantamine and rivastigmine may useful. please consult your neurophysician before using any drug because they may have side effects.
